Hey blog, long time no see! It’s like I don’t even know you anymore….
As you can see, it’s been almost 2 years since I’ve posted any entries. Yes, I’ve been too lazy to post sometimes, but during the other times when I’m not being lethargic, there’s kids, work, studies, etc. to take care of. Life just gets in the way of blogging! But just because the blog has been empty doesn’t mean this website has been inactive – I actually update the photo gallery fairly often. Usually at least once a month.  However, the frequency of my blog updates bothered me. So one day, while browsing the web, I saw a WordPress widget called WPG2 that can simplify integration with Gallery2 (the software that runs my photo gallery). That gave me an idea – so in an attempt to kill 2 birds with 1 stone, I’ve decided to use the WPG2 plug-in to seamlessly integrate my gallery into this blog. That way, the blog gets updated almost the same time as the gallery does… theoretically, at least. Whether that will actually happen still remains to be seen.
The first thing that benefited from WPG2 is an entry about Rafa’s baptism that’s been stuck in blog limbo for almost a year and a half. Check out that old blog post below (now given a fresh new life by being accompanied by pictures). Some other changes you’ll see on the main blog page is found on the right. There’s a random image that changes every time you load the page (it picks an image from a few thousand that exists in the gallery) , and also the 3 most recently added albums. Clicking any of those images on the right takes you to it’s corresponding gallery page or album. Cool, ‘no?
WPG2 rocks! Maybe WPG2 has started a renewed relationship between me and my blog.

What a coincidence, I was just having a renewed interest in updating our own site. Was looking at different gallery programs. I see you use Gallery2. I’m going to check it out. Maybe I can start blogging too with WordPress. I like the slideshow. Is that built-in to Gallery2?

Kelly – I tried Coppermine (tama ba yun?) before pero I thought it was very limited in its features. Gallery2 has a lot more support, and countless plug-ins that you can use. I highly recommend it. Built-in yung slideshow sa Gallery2.
