I&#8217;ve been taking a crash course on the subject through a couple of books (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/0764553313\/qid=1019103784\/sr=1-1\/ref=sr_1_1\/104-7021504-7404702\">Home-Buying For Dummies<\/a> and <a href=\"\">The Idiot&#8217;s Guide To Buying and Selling a Home<\/a>), and reading articles on some websites, especially the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.realtor.com\">Realtor.com<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/homeadvisor.msn.com\">HomeAdvisor<\/a> websites.  I don&#8217;t think I&#8217;ve ever done this much intense studying since my college days, but I guess if you&#8217;re going to spend an obscene amount of money on something, you at least need to be able to gauge whether you&#8217;re getting a good deal or not.  <\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve pretty much decided on a house that we like.  Some people would probably say that it&#8217;s too early in the process to decide and wait for more houses to go on the market.  I would say that I&#8217;ve been to a lot of houses in my lifetime, and I think I have a pretty good sense of what is a nice place to live in.  This house that we like has a certain &#8220;vibe&#8221;, a certain &#8220;homey&#8221; feeling to it.  The kitchen is great, the bedrooms are the right size, and the bathrooms are so nice I could probably sleep there.
