Buffets and Mother’s Day
Aileen, Zoe and I had a nice Mother’s Day dinner at China House in White Oak yesterday. I’ve never seen this place nearly as packed as it was yesterday. This is a great place, especially for such an out-of-the-way place like White Oak. They don’t have a huge selection of food for their buffet like other Chinese places do, but what they do have on hand is always delicious. The standouts are the walnut shrimp and the General Tso’s chicken. If only they served Peking Duck and more selections of dimsum, it would be perfect.
Aileen mentioned the other day that there was a good seafood buffet at the nearby Seven Springs resort. Just did a search on the web and found what she was talking about. For $36/adult and $10/children, here’s what you get – “King Neptune’s Seafood Buffet offers the finest USDC inspected seafood such as…Steamed Lobster, Peel and Eat Shrimp, Sautéed Scallops, Shrimp Scampi, Deviled Crab and Lump Crabmeat Hazel“. Not bad, no? For less than what we paid for at the Fish Market in downtown Pittsburgh, we get all this. I think we need to schedule a trip there sometime soon.
Of course, we’ll need to do that trip after losing 20 lbs., since Aileen and I agreed to go on a diet yesterday. I’ll just need to lose those pounds faster…. nothing like a buffet to motivate you to go on your diet ![]()
